Taft Law School Appoints New Director of Admissions and Student Services
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of our esteemed Director of Admissions & Student Services, Joan Slavin, after an incredible tenure of over 30 years of dedicated service to Taft Law School. Her impact on our university has been immeasurable, and we take this moment to express our deepest appreciation for her unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions.
Under Joan’s guidance, the Office of Student Services has been a cornerstone of support, fostering an environment where every student feels heard, valued, and empowered. Her legacy of compassion and efficiency has left an enduring mark on our institution.
As we bid farewell to Joan, we are delighted to introduce her successor, Todd Becker, who will be stepping into the role of Director of Admissions and Student Services. Todd comes to us with a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the values that make Taft Law School unique.
Todd holds a J.D. degree from Western State University, School of Law, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1990. He previously was a senior associate at a large firm in Los Angeles County, all the while joining Taft Law School in 2012 as a faculty member. Now, as our Director of Admissions and Student Services, Todd is eager to apply his multifaceted background to support and enhance the student experience at Taft Law School. His blend of legal expertise and a passion for student success positions him as a dynamic leader committed to ensuring that each applicant and student receives the guidance and support they need to thrive in their legal education journey.
Please join us in welcoming Todd to the Taft Law School family. We are confident that Todd’s diverse skill set, coupled with his dedication to our institution’s mission, will contribute significantly to the continued growth and success of our student community.
Change is constant in the journey of any institution, and we are grateful for the foundation laid by Joan Slavin. As we embark on this new chapter with Todd Becker, the entire administrative staff and faculty continue to work together to make Taft Law School place of growth, learning, and endless possibilities.
