Financial Aid

Many businesses and professional firms recognize the value of nationally accredited distance learning programs for employee education. The University has established the Partners in Professional Education (PIPE) Program. This is a co-operative undertaking between employers and the University to provide graduate level educational opportunities to qualified employees. Through the PIPE Program eligible employees may obtain tuition grants ranging between five and twenty percent. 

Many organizations sponsor employer-assisted tuition reimbursement programs. The University will provide all reasonable assistance to supply the necessary documentation to students seeking employer reimbursement.

Tuition Financing


Private
The University offers three financing alternatives for payment of tuition. The University offers short-term in-house financing as well as loan programs through Wells Fargo Bank and SLM Financial. For short-term financing the University permits students to pay tuition on an installment basis. This generally requires an initial payment equal to 30% of the tuition with the balance paid, depending on the program, over a term of five to twelve months. 

The University is approved by Wells Fargo Bank. This approval allows qualified students to finance 100% of tuition and books with a repayment period of up to 15 years.

The University is approved by SLM Financial Corporation, a Sallie Mae company. This approval allows qualified students to finance 100% of tuition and books with a repayment period of up to 15 years.

Military
In March 2005 William Howard Taft University began to participate in the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), which offers Tuition Assistance to those who serve in the military. The DANTES Tuition Assistance Management Program (TAMP) processes the tuition reimbursement for active duty Army, Active Guard and Reserves (AGR), Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) personnel upon successful completion of courses.

Tuition assistance policy questions must be directed to the respective branch of Service. Information regarding Tuition Assistance (TA) for each branch of service can be found on the DANTES Website. DANTES requires specific procedures to be followed. The first step is to contact the military educational counselor to discuss the program options and the TA approval process. Please contact the University with any questions your counselor cannot answer.
